Day 39: Weight Loss

No dieting. No starving myself. No foods off limits. Yet I’m 4 kilograms lighter and have lost a total of 16cm off my waist, hips, arms and legs!

My clothes fit better and no parts of me billow over the waistband of my jeans.

Admittedly, it’s not just abstinence from alcohol. Having more energy means I exercise more and sleeping better makes me less likely to reach for sugary snacks throughout the day. I expected to lose a little weight along the way but, since I wasn’t overweight to start with I didn’t expect much of a change. So nobody is more surprised than I am with the fact that, at  43 years old, I’m in close to being in the best shape of my adult life.

That was worth doing!
